Winter Maintenance for Parking Lots and Sidewalks, a free workshop will provide training on a variety of best practices for managing snow and ice on parking lots and sidewalks. Topics to be covered include application rates and materials, calibrating equipment, deicing and anti-icing, storage, new maintenance methods, environmental effects and more! Learn smart-salting techniques.
Who should attend? Contractors, property managers, city, parks and facilities staff who maintain parking lots and sidewalks and anyone interested in saving money, protecting water and keeping our sidewalks and parking lots safe.
Participants can earn a Level I Certification for Snow and Ice Control Best Practices from the Minnesota Pollution Control Agency through an optional test at the end of the course. Certified individuals are listed on the MPCA website.
The class will be taught by Fortin Consultants. Funding is provided by the MPCA through a grant from US EPA, Section 319 Nonpoint Source Management Fund.
This workshop is FREE and includes coffee, lunch, training materials, and the opportunity to get certified!
